Individualized Coaching Packages
Home Visit Package 1
This is a 4 part process that includes two, 2.0 hour sessions held at the clients home:
1. First Home Meeting: Parent/Student interviews and assessment of student strengths and weaknesses. A DeepBlue Educators Team member, through inquiry, begins the process of diagnosing student weaknesses and strengths as they relate to the issue at hand. This initial meeting is focused on the gathering of information by the DeepBlue Educators Team expert. Out of this meeting, a student profile is developed through information gleaned from the interview with both the parent and student.
2. A formal questionnaire is sent to the student’s teacher in an effort to gather information about both the teacher’s expectations for the class/classes, as well as comments about the student’s organizational skills, study skills, communication skills etc. Once completed by the teacher, this questionnaire is sent to DeepBlue Educators via mail, e-mail, or fax, and used as an important component in the evaluation process
3. Second Home Meeting: Formal presentation of suggested strategies and modifications. The DeepBlue Educators member meets for a second time with parent and student. It is during this second meeting that the DeepBlue Educators learning contract that has been designed is presented. Modifications to the contract are made after careful review of the document by parent and student. A new approach to learning/living is now available to the student and commitments must be made by both parent and student in an effort to follow through with this new approach.
4. If needed, the DeepBlue Educators Team member carefully communicates with the teacher(s) the DeepBlue contract that has been developed and how their involvement is an integral part of the program. Again, commitments are made in an effort to ensure that all parties are working together and following through with the contract items.
This package, which consists of two home meetings coupled with teacher correspondence (if needed), is often adequate to establish a course of progress. There are however many cases where long-term follow-up or maintenance programs are advisable. Under these circumstances, Package 2 is highly recommended.
Package 2
Package 2 consists of everything contained in Package 1 in addition to the following:
This package is offered for those parents who need additional help with the implementation of the newly acquired skills that have been presented in the DeepBlue Educators contract as part of Package 1 (see package 1). Because “old patterns” are quite often difficult to break, Dr. Rivet and the DeepBlue Educators Team are able to strengthen the relationship that was established in the first meetings by monitoring student progress through a maintenance program. This maintenance can take the form of weekly at home visits, phone calls and/or regularly scheduled email communications. Use of this service dramatically increases the likelihood of success in changing old habits and reestablishing newer, healthier practices.
